Students will cover the following topics and concepts: magnetic attraction to various materials, how like and opposite magnetic poles react, magnetic field lines, patterns of magnetic field lines between magnetic poles, the ability of magnetic field lines to pass through different materials, magnetic compasses, identifying magnetic poles, and the basis of magnetic levitating vehicles.

Students enjoy using and playing with magnets. Just exploring the world around them and finding what is attracted to magnets is an enjoyable learning experience for many students.
