Introduction
The Seibun Magnetic Fundamentals Learning Kit has all the needed parts (except water and a writing device) needed for students to explore and learn about magnets. The kit is simple to use and covers a number of basic concepts about magnets, magnetic compasses and magnetic attraction and repulsion. The kit may be used by a single student or a group of students working together to experiment and learn about magnets and their properties. The kit may be used over and over by several sets of students. The only additional material needed is water. Some optional activities encourage students to test materials found around them in classrooms or at home. This kit will allow students of all ages and grade levels to develop and retain a firm grasp of magnet and their properties. Students see magnets at home, school and in stores. Magnets are part of the motors in toys. Magnets are found in speakers. Magnets hold pictures or objects onto refrigerators. Many times students will have informally used or played with magnets. This kit will organize the use and playing with magnets to develop a better understanding of magnets and how they work. |
